Forsooth!

I loved Alex Beam’s farce on the Henry Louis Gates/Sgt. Crowley flap in the Boston Globe. Beam manages to skewer everyone involved. He gets himself, too, by titling the piece “A tale told by an idiot.”

I’m just an editorial guy, but you’ve got to think some advertisers would like to be placed opposite Beam’s column. But the Globe never puts an ad there — always pictures of locals at a party. Then again, the G section’s only full page display ad this issue is for Boston.com, effectively a house ad.
