A return to manufacturing
Nice words from my editor at Technology Review: My story on Corning’s development of its Willow flexible glass, Glass that Bends the Rules of Manufacturing, has been the most-read story on Tech Review’s site for two days running. Clear sign of a burgeoning interest in improving American manufacturing.
Corning’s story would be even more impressive if it were a semiconductor company. Outside of Intel, these companies have ceded market after market to others, losing their supply chains with it (and even Intel had to give up on DRAM).
